Fair competition.
Please read the competition rules before registering. They define eligibility, permitted OSINT activity, scoring, submissions, integrity standards, penalties and finalist requirements.
Four lines you don’t cross.
These are severe competition violations and may result in immediate disqualification of the entire team.
- 01Hacking, scanning, probing or exploiting systems that are not explicitly in scope.
- 02Social engineering, impersonation or contacting people or organisations connected to a challenge.
- 03Accessing private/restricted systems or using breached, leaked or stolen data.
- 04Sharing answers, collaborating across teams or receiving outside investigative assistance.
Severe violations are reviewed by the Chief Judge and documented under the competition integrity policy.
How the competition works
- 01Teams must have exactly 2 students. Each participant may belong to only one team.
- 02Open to college and university students in India. Both members must complete verification using a valid student ID before competing.
- 03Use only publicly and legitimately accessible information. Investigations must remain passive — search, observe and verify, but do not contact the people or organisations involved.
- 04Every Final Finding must be supported by evidence and sources that judges can independently verify.
- 05AI may assist your research, but you must disclose which tools you used and how. AI output is not evidence — independently verify every finding and source.
- 06During an active round, no one outside your registered 2-member team may investigate, solve, verify or provide answers for you.
- 07Each challenge is scored on Accuracy (70%), Evidence Quality (20%), and Methodology & Reproducibility (10%).
- 08A correct answer without adequate supporting evidence is capped at 50% of the total points available for that challenge.
Appeals
Provisional results may be appealed within 24 hours of publication. Include your Team ID, Task ID, the specific scoring issue, and your reason for requesting a review.
Appeals are judged only on the submission that existed at the deadline. No new evidence, sources or findings may be introduced during an appeal. The final appeal decision is binding.
Technical issues
Report any Securemojo platform issue immediately while the round is active. For a platform-wide outage, broken challenge asset or organiser-controlled failure, Securemojo may pause the round, extend time, replace or remove a task, or apply another fair remedy.
Participant-side internet, power or device issues do not normally qualify for individual extensions.
Rule updates & clarifications
Material changes made before the competition will be communicated to registered participants through official Securemojo channels.
Any clarification issued during an active round will be shared with all affected teams at the same time.
